Each situation is different and many factors need to be taken into consideration in order to determine if a deck "resurface" is the best route.

×Yes, each brand of composite & PVC decking has a hidden fastening system that is recommened for installation of their decking product. Western Red Cedar decking, however, is surface screwed.

× Cedar decks require regular maintenance which includes annual cleaning as well as either staining or sealing the cedar surfaces. Vertical surfaces such as railing posts, balusters and support posts generally do no weather as quickly as horizontal surfaces, so they may require less frequent maintenance. × Composite and PVC decks are low maintenance and only require annual cleaning with water and soap ( We use Dawn dish soap) Each brand of decking has their own recommendations for care and cleaning, which can be found on their product websites.
